  Perfect Pair: Original-Owner 1950s Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing and Roadster Headed to Auction <p>The SLs are both completely original, unrestored examples owned by a single family since new.</p>Of the two, the Gullwing coupe is the more rare example, as its original owner requested it be specially painted in British Racing Green over a tan interior. It has about 16,000 miles on the odometer and has been in the same family since new, with no restoration or modification undertaken over its 60-plus-year lifetime. The 300SL roadster, purchased by the same family two years later, is equally stunning if a bit less distinctive in its Silver-Blue Metallic exterior and gray leather interior. It also comes with an original fitted luggage set.

Mercedes is teasing its show car for the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and it appears to be a follow-up to last year's Vision 6 stunner.

Last year, the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 stole Monterey Car Week with its sultry red paint job and stunning proportions. And it looks like Mercedes is planning another radical concept, judging from this new teaser.



In the video below, Mercedes previews an ultra-luxury car that is clearly similar to the Vision 6 from last year. The teaser emphasizes the model's long hood and large wheels, which look a bit more realistic than the ones on the Vision 6. The interior has also been toned down slightly from renderings we saw of the previous model's interior, although the minimalist dashboard looks familiar as do the white seats and circular instruments near the steering wheel.

Mercedes released a teaser image showing a new Maybach concept, set to debut at the Pebble Beach next week. Reports say that the new design study is going to exhibit Maybach ’s abilities in bespoke coachbuilding, with Mercedes reportedly looking into creating a bespoke car business, like

Autocar reports this new creation is a convertible version of last year's Vision6 concept. Expect to see it at thePebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, which takes place on August 20.

If it's indeed a convertible Vision 6, this new show car will likely pack quite the punch. The older concept features an 80-kW-hr battery driving four permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. Total system output is 738 hp, enough to propel the big coupe to 62 mph in less than 4 seconds. Whether or not the concept comes to fruition, the four-motor powertrain is in development for series production.
