Colin Chapman would be proud.</p>The Ford GT40 was, if you don't already know the story, Ford Motor Company's response to the last minute withdrawal by Enzo Ferrari, who had been in talks to sell his boutique car company to the American giant. When Enzo backed out, Henry Ford II wrote a blank check to a Texan by the name of Carroll Shelby, with the only goal being to beat Ferrari at Le Mans. It took a few years, but in the end, Ford's GT40 took four consecutive wins at Le Mans, between 1966 and 1969.

Japan - Rumors of the emergence of the latest Kawasaki motorcycle blew from Japan. This fresh model is believed to be a variant of the Z 900 RS ( Retro Style ), which uses the base of the Z 900 naked bike.

In an effort to snatch up some market share in the sub-1,000-cc retro motorcycle segment, Kawasaki is tapping into some of its own design heritage and bringing it to a new bike. They’re coming out with the Z900RS, a repackaged version of the Z900 naked bike.



The current Kawasaki Z bikes are famous for being both exciting and easy to ride. Taking that chemistry and putting it into a retro-modern package could really help Kawasaki be competitive in a hot segment. With bikes like the Ducati Scrambler, Triumph Bonneville, and Yamaha XSR900 exploding in popularity—particularly with women—it’s possible the Z900RS could become the best selling Z bike in Kawasaki’s stable.

A little while ago, we showed off Kawasaki ’s plan to release a brand new, retro themed addition to their line up: the Z 900 RS . Purposefully designed to evoke the classic bikes of old, and as a direct challenge to the Triumph Thruxton, or the Yamaha XSR900, the newest Z 900 s will be retro styled

The forthcoming Kawasaki Z 900 RS is going under the model designation ZR900B and has a newly designed liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder motor but has retro - styled cooling fins in the same style as the old Z1 superbike from the 1970s.

If the name is any indication of the mechanical specs, the Z900RS should share an engine with the Z900 which is a liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve-per-cylinder, fuel-injected 948cc inline-four linked to a six-speed transmission. In the Z900, which only weighs 463.1 lbs, this engine makes 125 horsepower and 72.7 lb-ft of torque.

Critics love the Z900, but what not everyone loves is the styling of this naked bike. That’s where the Z900RS comes in. A little retro charm will go a long way on the love-it-or-hate-it Transformers styling of the Z900.

In the brief teaser below, Kawasaki gives us a hint as to what the Z900RS will look like. It shows us brief glimpses of the new bike and an old Kawasaki Z1 from the 1970’s, likely an inspiration for the aesthetic of the Z900RS. It will make its official debut on 10/25 at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Classic Chevys are more loved for their classic lines than for their dated suspensions or even their cool sounding, but by today’s standards, power-lacking drivetrains.&nbsp;It all started with a stalled project Tim found local to him in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The 1969 Camaro had been undergoing a complete restoration when the project ground to a halt. Since it was missing a drivetrain, something he would have discarded anyways, it was perfect for what he had in mind. Before work stopped on the Camaro it had been body worked straight and shot in Aztec Gold period-correct paint. Tim dug the retro color, feeling it would add to the Camaro's sleeper status.
