Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II That Got Its Owner Into the 150mph Club At Bonneville

Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II That Got Its Owner Into the 150mph Club At Bonneville Michael Callahan from Cincinnati, Ohio, always dreamed about going to Bonneville with a street car and getting into the 150MPH Club. Cyclone Spoiler IIs were originally made to fight the aero wars in NASCAR, where a 500-production run available to the general public was necessary to homologate the cars for racing. In all 503 were said to have been built, all with 351 Windsor engines, C4 automatics, and all painted white with either blue or red accents. What made it such a perfect Bonneville car was the factory aero aids almost hidden from a standard Cyclone. The noses were extended about six-inches and lowered, and a flush grille was added.

Now, however, Triumph has just teased a brand new Speedmaster – a bike that’s to be based on the new Bonneville – on Twitter as well as in a brief video, all There are absolutely no details released about the upcoming bike, but there is evidence that points to this being the same Bobber-based

The all - new Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster will be launched on October 3. The Speedmaster is based on the Bonneville Bobber, adapting cruiser styling and the same Bonneville T120-based 1200 cc parallel-twin engine.

A couple weeks ago we showed you Triumph’s teaser video for the all-new Bonneville Speedmaster replacing the now-defunct Speedmaster cruiser. The bike was officially unveiled on Tuesday, and adding the Bonneville name to this motorcycle is far from being the only change. Triumph’s take on the American-style cruiser just got much more competitive.

It starts with the new Bonneville 1200 HT parallel-twin engine that’s been spreading through the Bonneville lineup since 2016. This delightful engine gives this cruiser 75 horsepower and 78 foot-pounds of torque. That should put this bike right in between the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 and the Indian Scout in terms of performance.

The World's Fastest Ducati Monster

The World's Fastest Ducati Monster A double-engine land speed bike sets the record straight. Salt fever is a sickness for which there is only one cure: more of the same. As soon as you set one speed record, you’re already planning how to go faster next year with something different, as well as how to fund it. Mark Bjorklund has the Bonneville bug big time.

This is the first major upgrade to the modern Bonneville since it was introduced 15 years ago. The new bikes include the Street Twin, the T120 and T120 Black, the Thruxton and the Thruxton R. Returning with the air-cooled engine are the America, the Speedmaster , and the Scrambler.

American cruisers are getting some serious new competition from across the pond.

The all-new chassis has a hardtail aesthetic with monotube suspension hidden under the seat, not unlike a Harley-Davidson Softail. Triumph calls the aesthetic of the Speedmaster “British custom attitude,” but it’s hard not to see stars and stripes baked into this design.

Modern tech in this retro cruiser includes an LED headlight, switchable traction control, standard ABS, Road and Rain driving modes, and one feature-rich gauge. You can also get two different customization packages, the “Highway” kit, which adds storage and makes it more of a touring bike or the “Maverick” kit, which gives it a stripped-down bobber attitude with a solo seat and raked out bars.

The all-new Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is another showcase of what the British marque does best: blend retro style with modern engineering and technology.

The Story of the Most Famous Dodge Charger Daytona .
The world's most famous Daytona was just thought of as a tax write off at one time. The “K&K” of the racing team was K&K Insurance, a company owned by Nord and Teddy Krauskopf. The Krauskopfs made a name for themselves insuring racetracks around the country and then by fielding a very successful Grand National NASCAR team. With Bobby Isaac at the wheel in 1970, K&K won the national championship. And one of the cars he drove that year was the winged Charger Daytona. In 1971, NASCAR came out with new rules which basically did away with the wings but the K&K guys weren’t content to just park their car.
