Due to the possibility of an open circuit in the airbag system of the affected vehicles, the airbag warning light may turn on and not allow the front, side and curtain shield airbags to deploy. If this problem remains unfixed, the risk of injury during a crash could increase.

The recall involves certain 2016 Toyota Prius, 2016 Lexus RX and 2015-2016 Lexus NX vehicles. All known owners will receive notification by late March 2018.

Toyota and Lexus Recall Vehicles for Fuel-Line Issues

Toyota and Lexus Recall Vehicles for Fuel-Line Issues Toyota announced it is recalling 21,700 Toyota and Lexus cars in two separate recalls for problems with the fuel line that have the potential to cause a fire. Toyota is recalling roughly 11,800 of its 2018 Camry sedans because it’s possible that the fuel pipes and the fuel hoses in the engine compartment were not properly connected during assembly. This could lead to a fuel odor or leak, which—in the presence of an ignition source—could increase the risk of a fire.

To fix the problem, dealers will inspect the sensors on the involved vehicles and replace with new ones if necessary, at no cost to the customer.

If you want to find out if your vehicle is affected, or to check for any other outstanding recalls, enter your car’s VIN on the NHTSA recall website.
