2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Leaked

 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Leaked
Design updates are subtle
The first thing that Jeep fans will be happy to see is that the Wrangler continues to use a solid frame with a removable roof and doors. With all the body panels in place, the JL-series Wrangler looks a lot like the JK, bearing a similarly boxy profile. One thing you'll notice is that there's a vent behind the front fenders, possibly to aid aerodynamics. Those fenders are slightly different from the JK, and we can just barely make out the horizontal LED daytime running lights we've seen in past spy shots. The front bumper is also redesigned, with the foglights repositioned from the center to the edges.

What will the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck look like ? Jeep has been teasing the redesigned Jeep Wrangler for years. The hype is mostly because this new model is the first fully redesigned version of the iconic Jeep Wrangler in more than a decade.

Jeep fans are anxiously awaiting the reveal of the next-gen JL Wrangler, but they're perhaps more anxious to see the pickup truck version that's expected a year later. They may not have to wait that long, as the folks at JL Wrangler Forums have mocked up some renderings of the Wrangler pickup that look pretty close to what we'll see in 2018.

2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Previewed in Unofficial Renders

2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Previewed in Unofficial Renders
A better look at the next-gen Jeep
The leaked images, likely Computer-Aided Design (CAD) renderings, were black and white, grainy, and didn't show much detail. These renderings very skillfully incorporate everything we saw yesterday into glorious high-resolution, full-color depictions of the new Wrangler Unlimited. In the front, we can see the more upright grille that slants back slightly toward the top and has notches in the outer grille slats for the headlights. Those headlights feature LED rings and a horizontal bar in the middle of the housings.

2016 has been dominated by speculation over two things: the presidential election and what the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will look like . At least, it is if you go by your Facebook feed. And not only are we about to wrap up the voting thing, we also just got this batch of renders

The Chrysler Group has confirmed that there will be a Jeep Wrangler pickup coming sometime in 2017, but what should we really expect from the small Jeep truck? Today, I bring you a few thoughts on what the Wrangler pickup might look like when it finally arrives.

The front end should look familiar, as it's based on the Wrangler Unlimited renderings JL Wrangler Forums did earlier this year. Those renderings were based on leaked CAD drawings of the Wrangler Unlimited, so the front end probably isn't far off from production. The rest of the rendering is based on test mules we've seen in spy photos and the forums' own insider info. The creators have heard that the pickup variant, codenamed JT, won't have the same scoop behind the fender as the standard Wrangler, so that element is missing in these renders. Their intel also suggests the truck won't have the regular JL's character line below the door windows. Would FCA really go through the trouble of stamping two different sets of front fenders and doors? We're not so sure, but anything is possible. These renderings also predict that the leading edge of the truck bed will be angle-cut to match the angle of the rear fender. Lastly, the artists also took a stab at a two-door, long-bed version of the pickup. Though such a variant is not known to be in development, we'd certainly welcome one.

Jeep JL Wrangler Mule Gets Pulled Over in Downtown L.A.! Best Look Yet at Production ModelThrough the mesh covering the front grille, the pronounced kink in the grille as speculated by the JL Wrangler Forum is visible, as are the fender-mounted horizontal front driving lights/turn signals. Aside from that, the JL appears to be very much a Wrangler through and through, down to its boxy, upright body, body-on-frame construction, and front and rear live axles. The wish for Jeep to retain this proven formula was made adamantly clear by the legions of Wrangler enthusiasts from coast-to-coast and around the world.

Considering this Jeep pickup will be based on the Wrangler Unlimited, it will have an upgraded interior and a nice list of features. Danny – Jeep would say that Hummer’s truck looked like them! 🙂.

The Wrangler pickup could debut next year as a 2019 model, just about a year after the standard JL. The model is expected to offer the same engine choices as the Wrangler, including a turbocharged 2.0-liter "Hurricane" I-4, 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6, and possibly a new plug-in hybrid variant. Transmission options should include an eight-speed automatic and a six-speed manual. The name of the Wrangler pickup is unknown, but FCA could choose one from its past, possibly Gladiator, Comanche, or Scrambler. The truck will be produced at Jeep's Toledo plant, alongside the regular JL Wrangler.
