Aiming to unify styling cues across its Ram range, Fiat Chrysler’s designers have graced the 2019 Ram ProMaster and ProMaster City vans with new faces that mirror the front-end motif of the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 pickup truck. Both vans do look more Ram-like, although neither is in any danger of winning a beauty contest.

Accompanying the larger ProMaster’s refreshed grille are revised black bumpers, optional black steel wheels, and new side-panel options: High-roof models can now be equipped with polycarbonate side windows, while low-roof models are available with rear windows that incorporate steel grates. Inside, motion-sensing LED interior lights are optional.

Ram is also expanding the availability of the ProMaster’s 136-inch wheelbase to more models. Sandwiched between the standard 118-inch and extended 159-inch wheelbase, the 136-inch setup previously could be had only with the ProMaster 1500 or the high-roof ProMaster 2500. For 2019, though, the midrange wheelbase can be paired with both low- and high-roof variants of the heavier-duty ProMaster 2500 and ProMaster 3500.

As before, the front-wheel-drive Ram ProMaster boasts a standard 3.6-liter V-6 and a six-speed automatic transmission. Power holds steady at 280 horses, while the 2019 ProMaster sees gains to its payload and towing capacities. The van can now tote as much as 4680 pounds or tow up to 6800 pounds-increases of 340 and 1700 pounds. A newly available Trailer-Tow Group package brings a receiver hitch and the appropriate wiring harness.
