It is important to remember that much of the time people will be so focused on the new baby that they will forget that mom has just been through quite an ordeal and needs a little bit of pampering. New parents often forget things that they may need when they first bring their new baby home.

The Big Thing People Forget When They Visit a New Mom © Provided by Whalerock Industries I’m going to let you in on a little secret: Moms have a really bad habit of doling out advice to other moms. Just look at any parenting site in the history of the internet.

Seriously, other moms get so concerned about what’s best for someone else’s baby, and it all starts the moment a pregnancy is confirmed. There is advice on what foods you should eat, the dangers of pasta with vodka sauce and how often you should talk to your baby in utero (Answer: All the time). They are concerned if you are going to breastfeed (Answer: You have to. It’s best for the baby), where the newborn will sleep and if the cat knows not to smother the baby in her crib.

A massive Italian food theme park is on the verge of opening, and it looks insane

A massive Italian food theme park is on the verge of opening, and it looks insane
Forget Disney World — the upcoming "Eataly World" is a massive Italian food-themed park, and it looks just as amazing as it sounds.
The park is scheduled to open this November in Bologna, Italy, with over three dozen restaurants, a gigantic market, and a variety of "multimedia experiences" based on food, farming, and craft. In short, Eataly World looks like a new must-visit spot for Italian food lovers trekking through Emilia-Romagna.

The top 9 things people forget when moving house and how to avoid forgetting them yourself. She wasn’t amused when the new owner asked who she was – she thought she had dementia for a few minutes! We didn’t know she was visiting and had been planning to pick her up and take her to the

Sometimes jobs force us to relocate (and on short notice!), so there may be many things we overlook before, during and after the big day. Another item people often forget to keep with them ? The key to their new place!

It only gets worse after you give birth. You should hold the baby, but not too much because you’ll spoil him. You should start rice cereal at 4 months because clearly they’re hungry. You should wait to start baby-led weaning at 6 months to let them explore food on their own. You should definitely vaccinate. You most certainly should not vaccinate. You need to do enough tummy time and you have to provide a variety of bright toys.

You must do all these things because it is what's best for your baby. Not that surprising, right? But here's the real dirty little secret: We hardly ever talk about what is best for the mom.

(People) sing the praises of breastfeeding and its benefits without taking into account the sheer amount of work it takes for the one with the breasts.

I’ll never forget one of my college professors telling us a story a few years ago about her postpartum checkup experience. She sat down, holding her newborn with her OB-GYN across from her, and answered all the usual questions about sleeping, feeding and wet diapers. The doctor then looked up at her and asked, “And how are you doing, Mom?”

My professor told us she broke down in tears because not one visitor in those six weeks had asked her how she was doing, so focused they were on her new baby.

Somehow, when a baby is born, the woman who became a mother gets pushed to the side and the beautiful sleeping child gets all the attention and fuss. When the advice comes in, it’s always what’s best for the baby. They sing the praises of breastfeeding and its benefits without taking into account the sheer amount of work it takes for the one with the breasts. They have five varieties of burp clothes they’d recommend but are missing the dark circles around her eyes.

Toddler in hospice care gets chance to sit on Santa's lap for the last time

Toddler in hospice care gets chance to sit on Santa's lap for the last time With the Christmas season upon us, it's easy to get lost in the to-do list of the holidays. But for the Agnew family of Salt Lake City, Utah, a visit from a stranger provided a memory they will never forget, ABC reported. Miles Agnew, 2, has been in hospice care for months, and his health had been in slow decline. Last week "his little body went into shock and has started to shut down. We don't know what happened," his mother, Michelle Agnew, told ABC News. He is now at Primary Children's Hospital where his "pain and discomfort can be managed," she said. Miles was born with microcephaly and also has spastic quad cerebral palsy, cortical vision impairment, intractable epilepsy, brain malformations and feeding intolerance. He was adopted by the Agnews when he was 3 months old. In addition to Miles, the Agnews have two children, Hailey, 13, and Taveon, 11. On Dec. 5, Miles and his siblings were treated to visit from Santa that was coordinated by the Secret Sleigh Project, an organization that matches medically fragile and home-bound children with Santa visits. Jerry Bodily, aka Santa, said the visit was an emotional one that hit close to home. "Back in the 70s when I met my former wife, she had two daughters, her youngest had been diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and six weeks after we met, she lost her battle, so I knew what the family was going through.

When going through tough times in life, maintaining a good mindset will allow you to stay upbeat, be persistent, and eventually turn the situation around.

When people are moving to a new house, there are some important things they usually forget . The usual things they do not forget to bring are the big ones such as appliances, furniture, money, and clothes.

The thing is, moms need so much encouragement, especially in those first few months. They need to be told they are doing a good job. They need to be asked—really asked, without immediately focusing again on the baby—how they are doing. Moms need so much encouragement, but it’s rarely talked about. We are supposed to be automatically good at this motherhood thing because it’s in our blood. It’s what we were designed for, right?

So, the next time you meet another mom, tell her she’s doing a good job. It could mean a world of difference for her—and you never know if you might be the only person who has actually told her that.

Why You Can't Visit This Indian Island .
An ancient hunter-gatherer tribe untouched by modernity keeps strangers away. The outside world first made contact with the Sentinelese in 1867, when an Indian merchant ship crashed into the island. Their presence was not well received by the locals, who attacked them until they were rescued by another ship. Over the next 20 years the British occasionally made contact with the island, but after 1887, there was no contact with the Sentinelese until 1970, when some Indian anthropologists were sent to the island and spotted the locals on the beach.
