The great American eclipse arrives on August 21, and when the moon begins to cross in front of the sun at the prime lunchtime hour of 1:08 p.m. EST, onlookers will no doubt be hungry. Luckily, the solar eclipse’s path of totality — the 70 mile-wide swath that extends from Oregon to South Carolina — covers some of the best states for waffles and fried chicken. Twitter, naturally, has taken note.

Jerry Shannon, a professor at the University of Georgia, very helpfully put together a map of the best Waffle House locations from which to view the eclipse. More than two dozen Waffle Houses sit in the path of totality, and some will be holding official solar eclipse viewing events, with games, glasses, and all the blueberry pancakes you can eat in the dark.
