Jennifer Garner's 'Pretend Cooking Show' is making us pretty hungry

Jennifer Garner's 'Pretend Cooking Show' is making us pretty hungry Will someone please give this woman an actual cooking show already?Another edition of the actress-turned-home cook's "Pretend Cooking Show" has gone up on Facebook, and this time she took on homemade English muffins.

Jennifer Garner's voluminous hairstyle for the 2018 Oscars may look like the big, bouncy blowouts we've seen on the red carpet for what feels like forever, but according to her hairstylist Adir Abergel the star's style isn't like all the rest. Instead, it's an ode to all the famous old-Hollywood styles that have come before it. "I pulled a lot of images of Sofia Loren, early Elizabeth Taylor, where the hair was big and sexy, yet effortless," Abergel tells Allure. "The key to the style is shiny, healthy hair."

Four Easy Ways to Keep Your Avocados from Turning Brown

Four Easy Ways to Keep Your Avocados from Turning Brown These four simple tricks can help keep your favorite taco-topping, guac-making, salad-boosting ingredient looking fresh, green, and ready to enhance almost any recipe. But once you start slicing and dicing that avocado, you’ve got a relatively short window to incorporate it into your recipe before it begins to turn brown. Sure, you might not get sick from eating that slightly speckled piece, but when it comes to presenting a pretty plate, most people tend to frown on brown.

Before jumping into the look, Abergel says he turned up the music (George Michael, for those wondering) got emotional. (Yes, really.) "Jennifer Garner is one of my favorite human beings on the planet," he says. "Getting her ready, I get very emotional. We laugh, we cry…the ambiance is really cool."

The look, which featured an unexpected deep-side part (a far cry from Garner's go-to center part) paired with mega volume, movement, and bounce, began with a solid wash and condition. (Abergel used the Virtue Full Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, with conditioner only on the ends of the hair.) Once washed, Garner's hair was wrapped into an Aquis Hair Turban to "absorb excess moisture without roughing up the cuticle," says Abergel.

Because Abergel wanted to give Garner's hair a shiny, soft finish, he raked in the Virtue 6-In-1 Styler onto mid-shafts to ends pre-blow-dry. Abergel then pinned sections into barrel curls until hair was cool to "maximize memory and volume."

How to Get Meghan Markle's Royal Hair Color, According to a Pro

How to Get Meghan Markle's Royal Hair Color, According to a Pro Right now, Meghan Markle is everything. It's no wonder so many of us are crushing on her: not only is she about to live out every little (and big) girl's fantasy by becoming a princess, but she's also giving, effortlessly chic, and down-to-earth - as per her former makeup artist, her only beauty request is to let her freckles shine through - and she's got a mane so glorious we're all taking notes on how to replicate it. Although, quite sadly, we all can't personally marry Prince Harry, we can get Meghan's hair color.

Between steps, he ran back and forth between client appointment, including Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan. "It was a crazy-exciting day for me," Abergel says." I got Jen mostly ready, then ran back to finish Saoirse, and then ran back to put the finishes touches on Jen."

To create the soft, bouncy volume seen in the final look, the hairtylist brushed out the hair and added subtle waves with the GHD Gold 18K Pro Styler. As a final step, hair was swept to the side in a deep-side part and sprayed with Virtue's Finale Shaping Spray.
