Honey Helps with Allergies - But Not in the Way You'd Think

Honey Helps with Allergies - But Not in the Way You'd Think While this advice of consuming honey is provided by everyone from your mom to the Internet, there's actually no scientific proof that local honey can help prevent or lessen allergies. Despite this disheartening news, there are several reasons you should still be consuming honey when you start to feel under the weather.Honey has a plethora of natural health benefits. It has antibacterial properties due to naturally occurring enzymes that create hydrogen peroxide, and a compound (methylglyoxal) found in most varieties of honey may assist in fighting infections.

A Wisconsin Parent Found Meth in Their Child's Halloween Candy A parent found a small packet of methamphetamine amongst her child’s Halloween trick-or-treat candy in Keshena, on the Menominee Indian reservation in Wisconsin, police say. The child did not ingest the drugs, which were found by the parent in the early hours of Monday morning. However, police warned of the dangers the drug posed to both children and adults, and the tribe set up candy disposal sites in response to the event, according to ABC local news. They urged parents and children to hand in any candy collected on Sunday night.

The hotel's website states that its "policy is to accept bookings only from guests outside the Lee County Area."

The property's owner, Carroll Properties, said the policy was implemented with guest safety in mind nearly two decades ago when it acquired the hotel because the area and clientele were undesirable at the time.

"We feel blessed to have a place that is attractive enough to want to come and stay, and we are here to bring in new customers every day," Todd Carroll told NBC 2. "Having said that, looking back some 17 years ago now, the policy was the right thing to do."

Management said it sometimes makes exceptions. For example, the hotel recently provided shelter to locals following Hurricane Irma.

According to Lois Croft of the Lee County chapter of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, "privately owned hotels can certainly make their policies that are going to accommodate their goods and needs."

So, how do you respond? Do you reply with “Your Welcome ” or “ You ’ re Welcome ”? Here ’s two more exаmрlеs of Yоur Welcome vs. Yоu’rе Welcome that will help us understand this better: Correct usage of ‘ You ’ re ’.

"They have a variety of reasons for implementing different kinds of policies. It could be for safety of their guests or employees," Croft told NBC 2.

Jeff Webb, owner and general manager of the nearby Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers Colonial Boulevard, told frequent traveler Michael McGraw-Herdeg that his hotel has a similar policy.

"We do allow local people and we have had them here, but we have to understand what they're doing here," said Webb. "Seven out of 10 times, I'm sure they're fine. It's the three times that (are those) giving us trouble. And it seems like every time we get a problem it's someone local."

Unsurprisingly, Buhler and other locals aren't too thrilled with the policy.

"They should just change their policy, welcome Lee County. We're welcoming to you. We want to spend our money. I don't see why you wouldn't want to take it. It's not fair. It's discrimination," added Buhler.

Fair or unfair, the hotel's policy is legal and certainly pales in comparison to some recent naughty hotelier behavior.

An Indiana hotel allegedly charged a guest $350 and threatened legal action after the woman left a negative review. A hotel owner in Blackpool, England called a guest a "nasty piece of work" that should be "put on a diet" after she left unfavorable comments.
