  N.J. doctor accused in wife's murder dead in apparent suicide A New Jersey doctor accused of arranging the murder of his radio host wife is dead after an apparent suicide in jail, authorities say. The body of Dr. James Kauffman was found in his cell at 9:20 a.m. Friday at the county jail in Kearney. No details were released, but there were no indication of foul play.The doctor was charged with arranging the 2012 murder of April Kauffman to prevent her from exposing an illegal drug distribution ring he was running with a biker gang.

“This newly discovered evidence of tampering adds to the growing list of legal concerns and factual evidence which add weight to the conclusion that not only does Daniel Green deserve a new trial but that he is innocent of the murder of James Jordan ,” said Chris Mumma

Evidence tampering claimed in James Jordan murder . RALEIGH, N.C. -- Attorneys for a man serving life in prison for the murder of Michael Jordan 's father are asking for a new trial, saying someone tampered with the dead man's shirt after his autopsy.

The Fayetteville Observer reports the law affects Daniel Andre Green, who with an accomplice killed James Jordan along a North Carolina road. His body was dumped in a South Carolina swamp.

The law stops retired judges who return to the bench to fill judicial gaps from taking lengthy cases unless they involve business disputes.

Retired Superior Court Judge Michael Beale said he had worked on the Jordan murder case for more than a year before he was removed in September.

Marion County Sheriff’s officials said they responded to the home of 52-year-old David W. Roming on Jan. 30 for a reported home invasion with somebody shot.When they arrived, they found Roming’s live-in girlfriend, 64-year-old Sally Kaufmann-Ruff, unresponsive in the master bedroom, with a single gunshot wound to the right side of her head, the Ocala Star-Banner reported.Kaufmann-Ruff was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries.
