  Indicted attorney dismissed from Suge Knight's murder case An attorney who was indicted on witness-tampering charges was dismissed Monday from the murder case of rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight.Knight previously gave up his right to having a lawyer without potential conflicts of interest so he could keep Thaddeus Culpepper on his defense team.That decision came last month when Culpepper was under investigation but had not yet been indicted.Los Angeles County Judge Ronald S. Coen overrode Knight's decision and removed Culpepper.

ATLANTA — Opening statements are underway in the trial of an Atlanta lawyer charged with murder in the shooting death of his business executive wife.

Prosecutors have said 75-year-old Claud "Tex" McIver intentionally killed 64-year-old Diane McIver in September 2016. Defense attorneys have said the shooting was a tragic accident.

McIver faces charges including murder and influencing witnesses.

Tex McIver was a partner at a prominent law firm and vice chair of the state election board. Diane McIver was president of U.S. Enterprises Inc., the parent company of Corey Airport Services, where she had worked for 43 years.

The case has drawn significant media attention and public interest. It took about six days to seat a jury, partly because many potential jurors had heard about the case and formed an opinion.

Karrie Neurauter pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother following what has been described as an "ultimatum" set by her father, according to local investigators.Along with her father, 45-year-old Lloyd Neurauter, the 20-year-old of Corning, New York, is accused of killing her mother, Michele Neurauter, 46, last August, according to Democrat & Chronicle.
