Hernandez lawyer objects to judge's pick of white forewoman A lawyer for former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez has objected to the judge's selection of a white woman as the jury forewoman in his double-murder trial. Attorney Ronald Sullivan Jr. made his argument Monday as jurors started their second day of deliberations.Sullivan said the choice of a white woman on the mostly minority jury "has very troubling racial overtones." He said choosing her as forewoman ensured she would remain on the jury instead of being dismissed as an alternate.Judge Jeffrey Locke said he found it "astounding" that Sullivan would make that claim.

His new lawyer thinks so. Jose Baez, who served as Hernandez ’s attorney for the double murder trial, believes Hernandez could eventually get out of prison . “I think so, I think so,” Baez told TMZ when asked in an interview whether he thinks Hernandez will get out of prison .

Aaron Hernandez Will Get Out of Prison .. Says Jose Baez 1 4/15/2017 12:55 AM PDT Aaron Hernandez will NOT spend the rest of his life behind bars so says his attorney, Jose Baez, who tells TMZ Sports he believes he can overturn the ex-NFL star's murder conviction.

Baez is talking about the possibility of representing Hernandez in his appeal of the Odin Lloyd conviction. Hernandez was convicted in 2015 of murdering Lloyd and received a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Baez thinks Hernandez could win an appeal of that conviction.

But all this legal work is not cheap, so Baez was asked whether the former New England Patriots tight end had funds left for a defense.

“Very little, very little. But he’s got friends and supporters — people who care about him. Hopefully people will come forward now that they can see,” said Baez.

Baez also defended Hernandez’s character to TMZ Sports and spoke highly of him.

“The Aaron that I know is not anywhere near what he is portrayed to be. He’s a very intelligent young man, funny, caring, and very grateful for all of those people who have stood by him.”

We saw a different side of Hernandez when he was crying in court following the verdict being read on Friday in the double murder trial. In that case, his attorneys were able to poke holes in the prosecution’s case, making it a he said/she said situation.
