Sharpton: Meek Mill represents victims of the justice system

Sharpton: Meek Mill represents victims of the justice system Rev. Al Sharpton said a broken criminal justice system is responsible for Meek Mill's imprisonment and called Monday for the judge who sentenced the rapper to reconsider or step aside.Sharpton said he met with the 30-year-old musician in a Pennsylvania prison and told reporters outside the facility that Mill has become a symbol for the thousands of people who have been "victimized by abusive probationary and parole systems.""He's representative of many people in institutions like this that do little or nothing, they're violated and their lives, their businesses are ruined," Sharpton said.

Meek Mill is doing some general labor around the prison grounds and is getting some nice perks due to good behavior. It appears Meek Mill is staying a busy man behind bars. According to TMZ, the MMG rapper is currently bouncing around between several different jobs at the moment

Things aren't looking up for Meek Mill, whose second bail motion was denied once again by a Pennsylvania court earlier this week. In a new development in Meek's prison saga, TMZ reports that the rapper is reportedly spending his time handling various jobs to make some money and the pay is far from what the MMG rapper is used to.

Coming from nabbing the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 with his latest album Wins & Losses to reportedly working as part of the prison's general labor crew is a major transition, especially if he's working for 19 cents per hour. A source told TMZ that the "Issues" rapper "cleans the cell block, tidies up prison grounds and washes dishes."

Meek and his legal team have made several attempts to get the rapper released on bail but their previous efforts have been denied. Earlier this week, Judge Brinkley, who is handling the case, denied Meek's bail request, citing him as a "danger to the community." Meek's legal team filed another motion to a higher court following Brinkley's rejection but his request was once again denied.

The embattled rapper is currently serving a sentence of two to four years for violating his probation.

Billboard has reached out to Meek Mill's attorney for comment.

Trump will stop spouses of H-1B visa holders from working .
The Trump administration plans to make it illegal for the spouses of thousands of immigrant workers to get jobs in the U.S. Since 2015, the spouses of H-1B visa holders waiting for green cards have been eligible to work in the U.S. on H-4 dependent visas, thanks to a rule introduced by President Obama. Many H-1B visa holders are highly skilled, working in the tech sector. But in a statement Thursday, the Department of Homeland Security said it intends to do away with that rule.
