Husband charged with murder of teacher found dead Saturday

Husband charged with murder of teacher found dead Saturday Authorities have arrested a man on suspicion of murdering of his wife, a teacher who was found dead on Saturday. Vanessa MacCormack’s husband, Andrew MacCormack, was arrested Tuesday at Revere Police Headquarters on the charge of murder, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley's office said. "The evidence suggests that her murder was a crime of domestic violence, committed in the very place where she should have been safest – her own home," Conley said. Revere police responded to the home at 93 Grand View Ave. at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday after Andrew MacCormack called 911. They found Vanessa MacCormack, 30, inside with "obvious signs of physical trauma." She suffered blunt force injury to the head, sharp force injuries to the neck and asphyxiation, the DA's office said. "Evidence suggested that the killer made concerted efforts to clean up the crime scene and dispose of related items," Conley's office said. The arrest followed a review of surveillance camera footage, interviews with witnesses and the execution of a search warrant, the DA's office said. Mary Dill, principal of William P. Connery Elementary School, said Vanessa MacCormack was a second-grade teacher at the school. "Vanessa taught at Connery for five years and was in this district for seven years," Dill said in a statement. "She was a talented, dedicated and passionate educator and a loyal, kind and compassionate friend and colleague.
