Tim Lincecum’s professional baseball comeback will take another step Monday as the Texas Rangers right-hander is slated to pitch one inning for the team’s Triple-A Round Rock Express, per a SportsDay report.

The outing represents Lincecum’s initial steps in his injury-rehabilitation assignment after signing with the Rangers on a one-year deal in March. Lincecum sat out the entire 2017 season and last pitched on Sept. 4, 2016 in the Pacific Coast League while a member of the Los Angeles Angels’ Triple-A club.

“I’m definitely looking forward to getting out there and get my feet wet, get a hold of my emotions and all that good stuff,” Lincecum said on Sunday at Globe Life Park. “It’s not going to be anything foreign to me, but I’ve got to get on the bike.”
