The footage, captured by CNN and ABC, shows Trump posing for photos with a Coast Guard cadet, who hands him the sword. Trump then sits down next to Kelly who leans in and tells the president, "Use that on the press, sir" in a not-so-hushed tone.

Trump laughed, adjusts his seat and mutters something. According to CNN, he replied, "Yeah, that's right."

Trump delivered the ceremony's commencement speech, during which he again railed against the press' treatment of him.

"Look at the way I've been treated lately," the president said, pausing and extending his arms to the side. "Especially by the media. No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly. You can't let them get you down. You can't let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams."

The applause the president received doesn't quite mirror the attitudes toward Trump on Capitol Hill. There, both Democrats and Republicans are preparing for a lengthy investigation of Trump after he fired FBI Director James Comey and reportedly spilled sensitive intelligence information to the Russians.
