Sony announces smaller version of giant Digital Paper E Ink tablet

Sony announces smaller version of giant Digital Paper E Ink tablet The selling point of Sony’s DPT-RP1 “Digital Paper” tablet is right there in the name — it’s basically a giant slab of E Ink the same size as a sheet of A4 paper, and it works with a stylus for document creation, PDF annotation, and so on. The 10.3-inch screen has a resolution of 1404 x 1872 at 224 dots per inch, and is capable of 16 levels of greyscale. The DPT-CP1 has 16GB of storage for PDF files, which can be shared with iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac devices through a companion app. It’s 5.9mm thick and weighs about half a pound, with Sony claiming it’ll last around a month on a single charge.

The Japanese company just introduced its first phone with dual cameras - Xperia XZ 2 Premium . The phone has a 4 K HDR screen, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6 GB RAM and the ability to capture photos and videos in extremely low - lit environments. The TRILUMINOS display is

The newest model of the company’s 2018 range, the XZ 2 Premium is the first to feature Sony ’ s Motion Eye Dual camera system. Previewed at Mobile World Congress just a few months ago, it has some serious low - light talents.

Less than two months after unveiling the Xperia XZ2 at Mobile World Congress, Sony is back again with the Xperia XZ2 Premium. It retains the same overall design as the XZ2 — a departure from Sony’s past phones — but upgrades the display, camera, and battery. The XZ2 Premium will be available beginning this summer. Pricing has yet to be announced.

Sony is putting a 5.8-inch 4K display in the XZ2 Premium, an improvement over the 5.7-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2160) screen on the regular XZ2. Both of them support HDR video. When you’re watching videos, listening to music, or playing games, you’ll notice the new vibration system that debuted in the XZ2; it’s meant to provide rumble feedback to match whatever’s happening on screen, but felt somewhat gimmicky in my hands-on time with the standard model.

Sony's pro 4K camcorder has Netflix-friendly 'Instant HDR'

Sony's pro 4K camcorder has Netflix-friendly 'Instant HDR' HDR has become just as important as 4K for streaming and Blu-Ray users who care about seeing films and series the way the creators intended. The FS5-II canhandle 60 fps high-framerate 4K recording, shoot 4K 120 fps in four-second bursts, and output 240 fps 1080p for eight seconds. Internally, it can handle 8-bit 4K at 30fps, or HD at up to 120 fps. However, many production pros will probably attach an Atomos Ninja or other device and record RAW 4K using Apple's new ProRes RAW or regular ProRes recording formats. It also packs new color science that improves skin tones, a common complaint about the last model.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium has a gorgeous 4 K display . While others punched extra holes to fit dual - camera setups, Sony was busy adding an extra memory buffer layer in a high-res sensor for striking slow-mo videos.

The biggest upgrade here, according to Sony, is the camera. The XZ2 Premium has two of them around back — a first for Sony. Rather than having a telephoto / zoom lens like Apple, Samsung, or OnePlus, Sony is using the same strategy as other companies and splitting image capture between them. One sensor shoots black and white, and the other does color.

But where Sony is trying to best everyone and stand out is in ISO performance. When shooting stills, the XZ2 Premium can reach a maximum ISO of 51,200. Videos go as high as 12,800. Normally anything you’d get at those numbers on a smartphone would look like grainy garbage, but Sony claims its “AUBE fusion image signal processor” can combine the data of both sensors, optimize for low light, and reduce noise so you get usable results. We’ll have to see how it actually pans out in real world use, but Sony claims this allows for “ultra-low-light capture previously only seen in interchangeable lens cameras.”

Samsung Patents Phone With iPhone X-Style Notch

Samsung Patents Phone With iPhone X-Style Notch The patent shows an unnamed Samsung Galaxy phone that features a display notch similar to the one found on the iPhone X.It’s been discovered recently that Samsung has filed a patent for a new smartphone that features an iPhone X-style notch on its display. The patent application was filed by the South Korean company back in March 30 with the Chinese patent organization SIPO and was only spotted by Mobielkopen on Monday.

Sony ’ s Xperia XZ 2 Premium was ostensible to be denounced during a MWC 2018 trade yet instead, we got a XZ 2 and XZ 2 Compact, dual really Not only this, yet a smartphone has also been rumored to come with an 18MP primary shooter and a 12MP delegate camera to form a dual - camera upgrade.

The Xperia XZ 2 ' s new 18:9 display means Sony has been able to squeeze more screen into its body than ever, with a 5.7in display up from 5.2in last year. Just be sure to shoot in the best light possible – lower light situations can introduce a lot of grain.

The dual camera system will also have a portrait feature (which Sony simply calls Bokeh mode) and will let you shoot using only the monochrome sensor for crisp, detailed black and white shots. Oddly, these two features won’t be on the XZ2 Premium at launch and will arrive in a Q3 software update. Like the XZ2, the Premium can record 960fps slow-mo video at 1080p resolution, an improvement over the 720p limitation on Samsung’s Galaxy S9.

Other improvements on the XZ2 Premium include RAM (now 6GB), battery capacity (3,540mAh), and a sharper front-facing camera.

What’s better about the XZ2 Premium?

  1. Display: The Premium model has a 5.8-inch 4K HDR screen, while the regular XZ2 has a 5.7-inch Full HD+ panel. Both are LCD and support HDR video.
  2. RAM: Sony’s putting 6GB of RAM in the XZ2 Premium versus the 4GB in the standard XZ2.
  3. Rear camera(s): Sony switched to a dual-camera system for the XZ2 Premium, which can capture higher-ISO photos and video. Portrait and black and white shooting modes will be added in a future software update. The XZ2 has a single 19-megapixel sensor.
  4. Front camera: The XZ2 Premium has a 13-megapixel selfie camera. The XZ2’s is 5MP.
  5. Battery: The battery inside the Premium is 3540mAh compared to the 3180mAh battery in the regular model. That might not necessarily mean superior battery life, however, since the XZ2 Premium has to power a much higher-resolution display.

Other key specs remain the same as on the XZ2. Both phones ship with Android 8.0 Oreo and have a Snapdragon 845 processor inside.

Man who was 'gathering souls' shoots 4, kills 1 within hours, officials say .
A Wisconsin man told a childhood friend he was “gathering souls” last week before shooting him and three other people, killing one, within a three-hour period, officials said Monday. Joevashaun Ward, 37, was charged Monday after shooting dead one person and trying to kill several others on April 11, FOX6 reported.
