Pokemon Go Celebrates Second Anniversary With Special Summer Pikachu

Pokemon Go Celebrates Second Anniversary With Special Summer Pikachu Niantic's phenomenally popular mobile game Pokemon Go is celebrating its second anniversary this month, and the developer is commemorating the occasion in a number of ways. First, series mascot Pikachu and its pre-evolved form, Pichu, will appear much more frequently from July 6-31, and players will even have a chance to catch a special version of the Electric mouse for a limited time.Throughout the remainder of July, a "summer style" Pikachu will also appear in the wild. Like the various hat-wearing Pikachu that were available during certain in-game events, this Pikachu only differs in appearance, sporting a straw hat and sunglasses.

Certain third-generation monsters, like Nincada and its two evolutions, have been left out of the wild since the Hoenn region’s Pokémon began to appear in the game last year. In the case of Nincada, it’s possible that its highly specific evolutionary forms kept Niantic from implementing it alongside most other third-generation Pokémon. Nincada’s evolution Shedinja, for example, is only obtainable in the mainline games if players evolve Nincada while having an empty space in their party; it’s essentially a useless husk of a Pokémon.

Meanwhile, Smeargle has been the longest second-gen, nonlegendary holdout. Perhaps its odd moveset — it can only use the attack Sketch, which copies the previous Pokémon’s move and is therefore tough to use in Pokémon Go’s battle system — kept it back from release. Coupled with the upcoming addition of the mythical ’mon Celebi, players will soon be able to complete their entire Johto region Pokédex.

Second Annual Pokémon Go Fest Draws Over 21,000 Attendees

Second Annual Pokémon Go Fest Draws Over 21,000 Attendees “Pokémon Go” developer Niantic has apparently redeemed itself after its disastrous Pokémon Go Fest in Chicago last year. An estimated 21,000 people attended the 2018 event in Lincoln Park, and 180,000 participated in the surrounding Chicago area. Event attendees walked an average of more than six kilometers, completing an average of 36 research tasks and catching an average of 350 Pokémon on July 14 and 15, Niantic said in a thank you message to fans.“The mood was infectious all weekend,” it said. “The feelings of courtesy, kindness, and togetherness never left Lincoln Park, even as trainers filed out at the end of Sunday’s journey.

Other rare monsters include Jirachi, the tiny, adorable mythical Pokémon that premiered in generation three, and Deoxys, whose multiple forms allow it to straddle high defense and offense. Each of the four Deoxys forms have been found within the game’s data, although it’s unclear if players will have to obtain them all separately.

Galaxy Note 9 leak suggests it looks a lot like the Note 8 .
An allegedly official render of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has been posted over at Android Headlines, and well, there’s not a lot to see. The render only shows the front of the device, and if it’s accurate, the Note 9 will look almost identical to its predecessor from this angle. The bottom bezel might be slightly thinner, and the S Pen slot could be a little more flush with the device, but it’s hard to tell for sure. The news, then, is that the Note 9 will probably be a lot like the Note 8, just like this year’s Galaxy S9 was an iterative upgrade on the S8.
