  LaVar Ball Withdraws LiAngelo Ball From UCLA Without Playing a Game LiAngelo Ball has withdrawn from the UCLA men's basketball team upon request of his father, Lavar, according to TMZ Sports and ESPN. "We are exploring other options with Gelo," LaVar Ball told ESPN's Jeff Goodman. "He's out of there."LiAngelo Ball, 18, was in his freshman year but did not play a game for the Bruins. He was one of three players suspended indefinitely after being arrested for shoplifting on a trip to China before the team's season opener against Georgia Tech.LiAngelo is the brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball, who played just one season at UCLA before declaring for the NBA draft.

LaVar Ball (born October 23, 1967) is an American media personality and businessman who is the father of three basketball players: Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo, UCLA freshman guard LiAngelo , and LaMelo .

LaVar Ball told ESPN that his sons LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball have signed with agent Harrison Gaines, ending any speculation that LaMelo will play college basketball. The plan is now for both to play on the same team overseas.

By signing with an agent, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball mostly likely have forfeited their eligibility if they ever wanted to play college basketball

"I don't care about the money," LaVar Ball said to "I want them to go somewhere where they will play them together on the court at the same time. The priority is for the boys to play on the same team."

The agent, Harrison Gaines, also represents Lonzo Ball.

Earlier this week, LaVar Ball pulled LiAngelo out of UCLA weeks after he and two other freshman were caught shoplifting in China prior to UCLA's season opener against Georgia Tech.

LaMelo Ball also withdrew from Chino Hills High School in California earlier this year.

LaVar Ball said he doesn't know what overseas teams are interested in his sons.

"I don't know the deals and who is offering what," LaVar Ball said. "I'm letting Harrison handle all that, but I know there are a few teams interested. I just need to get them playing again."

He also believes he knows how best to coach his son.The elder Ball and his business manager sat down with Lakers president Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka on Nov. 29 in LA before the team's game against the Warriors, reported Tuesday night.
