Sport LaVar Ball served with lawsuit over Big Baller Brand products

LaVar Ball was served with a lawsuit at his Southern California home last month and has yet to pay any of the $25,000 owed to an embroidery and screen-printing company that  worked on Big Baller Brand products, a lawyer in the case told USA TODAY Sports.

The lawsuit was filed in San Bernardino County by the owner of Closet Collection in November. Michael Sayer, the attorney for Closet Connection, said that Ball himself received the summons for the breach of contract lawsuit.

Big Baller Brand has 'F' rating from Better Business Bureau

Big Baller Brand, the apparel company created by LaVar Ball that represents his three basketball-playing sons, has received an F rating from the Better Business Bureau, as pointed out by TMZ Sports.A file for the company was opened on April 18, 2017, and 32 complaints have already been filed against the company.They have received 12 failure to respond to complaints and five complaints that were unresolved. They have a 1 star composite score out of 5. They have 44 reviews on the site — all of which are negative.

Sayer said that the Big Baller Brand --- which charges up to $60 for t-shirts and as much as $100 for hats --- had not paid any of the money owed as of Wednesday.

“We haven’t even heard from him,” Sayer said.

The business owner declined to speak to USA TODAY Sports when reached this week, although he told The Los Angeles Times about his issues with Big Baller Brand. He did not want the newspaper to use his name because of the legal proceedings.

“We tried for about three months,” the owner said of his attempts to recover what was owed. “They said they would make payment about seven times. They just kept pushing it back and kept pushing it back.”

LiAngelo, LaMelo Ball to debut in Big Baller Brand Challenge vs. teenagers

If you thought LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball playing professional basketball in Lithuania meant they would be competing against grown men, think again. Their first game in the Big Baller Brand Challenge on Tuesday will pit Prienu Vytautas, featuring LaVar Ball's youngest boys, against a team from Lithuanian powerhouse Zalgiris Kaunas comprised entirely of 16- and 17-year-olds in a game to be broadcast on Facebook Watch and Ballislife.com.In their first game for Vytautas, LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball will play against a Žalgiris-2 team formed from 16 and 17 year-old prospects preparing for #adidasNGT.

Big Baller Brand Hit With Lawsuit For Neglecting to Pay ,000 USD to Manufacturer. Allegedly 2,500 pieces of merchandise were manufactured for the grassroots basketball brand ; however, Lavar Ball neglected to pay almost ,000 USD in associated fees.

A lot has transpired in the Ball family’s life since the lawsuit was filed on Nov. 27.

LaVar Ball’s middle son, LiAngelo, was kicked  out of UCLA as the freshman was suspended for allegedly shoplifting during a team trip to China. LiAngelo and his youngest son, LaMelo, then signed one-year contracts with a professional basketball club in Lithuania.

Meanwhile, Ball has continued to face criticism for his constant critiques about playing time when it came to his eldest son, rookie Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball. Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr to call LaVar the “Kardashian of the NBA" this week.

A status hearing for the case is scheduled for May.
