If you're just joining us after the college football season ended on Monday, welcome. And if you've been following college basketball all year long, you already know that Oklahoma has been one of the best surprises in the sport thanks to the unbelievable play of freshman Trae Young.
The breakout star is averaging a ridiculous 29.2 points per game and 10.1 assists, being one of the select few college players to average a double-double.
And he's already broken a record for the most 25-point, 10-assist games in a career over the last 20 seasons in just 13 games (as well as tying another for most assists in a game).
Boy, 13, charged as adult in crossbow killing of 10-year-old
Prosecutors in Oklahoma have charged a 13-year-old boy with first-degree murder in the crossbow killing of a 10-year-old friend. The death happened last fall in the small town of Chandler, about 40 miles (65 kilometers) northeast of Oklahoma City. Authorities say 10-year-old Austin Almanza was fatally struck by an arrow, which traveled through his body and then pierced his 8-year-old brother in the arm.Prosecutors charged the 13-year-old boy as an adult, making him one of the youngest ever in Oklahoma to be charged as an adult with first-degree murder.

But Oklahoma's season hasn't been without its difficulties thus far.
Despite a No. 9 ranking in the polls and a 12-2 record, they have a major flaw that will stop them from being a title contender - their defense.
The Sooners rank 324th out of 351 teams in points per game allowed with 80.1. That number may be inflated due to their high-paced offense, but it's still a noticeable fault. If Lon Kruger's team wants any chance at a deep tournament run, they'll have to improve on the defensive end.

The First All-SEC National Title Game Was Bad, but the Second Doesn't Have to Be
When the College Football Playoff Selection Committee gave the fourth and final playoff spot to Alabama instead of Ohio State, it set the stage for what many fan bases thought of as a doomsday scenario: two SEC teams playing for the national championship. Both teams’ semifinal wins were impressive for different reasons. Georgia beat the Big 12 champs at their own game—a defense-optional shootout, the type of contest SEC teams want to avoid, as the conventional wisdom goes—while Alabama at times made Clemson look like the junior varsity a week after the Tigers won the ACC title game by 35.
