The Mets reached one-year settlements and avoided arbitration with eight players on Friday.

Among those at the top of the list were starting pitchers Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom.


According to the New York Daily News, DeGrom's deal reportedly increased $3.4 million as he is expected to receive $7.4 million. DeGrom went 15-10 with a 3.53 ERA in 31 starts, and ranked second in the National League with 239 strikeouts and fifth with 201 1/3 innings, which was 81 more than any other New York pitcher. He can become a free agent after the 2020 season.

The Mets avoided arbitration and came to terms on 2018 salaries with Travis d’Arnaud, Noah Syndergaard , Matt Harvey , Jeurys Familia, Wilmer Flores, Jacob deGrom , AJ Ramos, and Hansel Robles.

They hardly were superheroes last season, but the Dark Knight and Thor both have inked new deals for 2018. The Mets stayed busy on Friday knocking out one-year settlements with several arbitration -eligible players , including starting pitchers Matt Harvey

Harvey agreed to a deal worth $5.6 million. Last year, he went 5-7 with a 6.70 ERA in 19 outings. However, he missed more than two months in the middle of the season as a result of an injury to the scapula bone in his right shoulder.

The Daily News also reported that Syndergaard received a hefty raise as his new deal is worth $2.9 million (compared to the $605,500 he earned last season). He went 1-2 with a 2.97 ERA but only started seven games due to a partially torn lat muscle.

Relievers Jeurys Familia, AJ Ramos and Hansel Robles, catcher Travis d'Arnaud and infielder Wilmer Flores also agreed to one-year contracts.
