Former NFL quarterback Josh Freeman signs with CFL team

Former NFL quarterback Josh Freeman signs with CFL team Former first-round draft pick Josh Freeman was a member of five NFL teams during his career in the league, and he had previously been out of football for awhile, until now. Freeman, who last played in an NFL game on Jan. 3, 2016 when he suited up for the Colts in a meaningless Week 17 game against the Titans, was released by the team just two months later. It appeared as if his football career had come to a close, but that is not the case.

Falcons RB Devonta Freeman told ESPN he played the end of the season with sprained posterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his right Falcons running back Devonta Freeman refused to use his PCL and MCL sprains as an excuse for his ineffectiveness in Saturday's divisional-round

The Eagles played with their backup QB. Matt Ryan and Tevin Coleman were by all available information healthy. I hope Mr. Freeman will heal fully. Like. Liked. End of conversation.

Devonta Freeman was playing through some injuries towards the end of the Atlanta Falcons’ season, the running back revealed after the team’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday night.

ESPN’s Vaughn McClure reported Saturday evening that Freeman played through MCL and PCL sprains in his right knee towards the end of the season.

Freeman rushed for just seven yards on 10 carries in the 15-10 loss to the Eagles, though he did have a receiving touchdown for the second straight week. Including the playoffs, Freeman did not rush for more than 3.7 yards per carry in the team’s final four games.

Sean Payton’s ‘Skol’ chant went from troll to self-own in 25 seconds thanks to the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’

Sean Payton’s ‘Skol’ chant went from troll to self-own in 25 seconds thanks to the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’ Rumors swirled after the Saints’ loss to the Vikings that Sean Payton was doing the “Sköl” clap as it appeared his team would beat the Vikings with 25 seconds to go in the game. We can now confirm those to be true. Payton didn’t just do it facing the field, either.

Devonta Freeman revealed that he played the end of the season with sprains to both his MCL and PCL . Freeman clearly lacked explosiveness in Atlanta's playoff loss to Philadelphia, and he was limited in practices leading up to both the Wild Card and Divisional Rounds.

Compare to same point last season . Devonta Freeman rushed 18 times for 66 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons' Wild Card win over the Rams, adding a three-yard reception.

It’s unclear whether Freeman will need surgery this offseason, but the running back told McClure he hopes to avoid a procedure.

Report: Josh McDaniels likely to take Colts head coaching job .
Josh McDaniels is considered the favorite to become the next head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, and all signs continue to point to him taking the job. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, McDaniels has informed potential assistant coaches of his plans to become a head coach after his season with the New England Patriots ends. The belief is that McDaniels will wind up in Indy. #Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has indicated to potential assistants to wait for him. The belief is he takes the #Colts job, as he's the clear favorite, sources say. Indy's other finalist is Mike Vrabel. — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 14, 2018 Barring a late change, the Patriots are going to lose both their offensive and defensive coordinators after their season ends. As ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday, Matt Patricia is expected to be named the next head coach of the Detroit Lions. McDaniels’ first stint as a head coach with the Denver Broncos in 2009 and 2010 was a failure, but Tim Tebow was his quarterback. He should have a lot more success coaching Andrew Luck, assuming the latest we have heard about Luck’s shoulder injury is true.
