After a brilliant start by Jacob deGrom, the Mets bullpen allowed six runs in the eighth inning as the Mets fell to the Nationals, 8-6, at Citi Field. New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom did his job in the first inning of Monday’s game. He got Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper to break his bat. Unfortunately for deGrom, it didn’t matter. Harper still hit the ball out.
