Patriots TE Gronkowski on mini-camp: 'I'll be there' New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski confirmed on Sunday that he will report for the team's mandatory mini-camp this week. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski confirmed on Sunday that he will report for the team's Gronkowski has not been a part of any of the Patriots' voluntary offseason program this year and only recently said he plans to play this season.New England will have a three-day minicamp."We've got mandatory minicamp this week," Gronkowski told Boston radio station WBZ. "So I'll be there this week. I'll be full go. I'm looking forward to it.

There will be no workout-related fines handed out to the New England Patriots’ two most important offensive players, as Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have officially rejoined their teammates in advance of mandatory minicamp.

On Monday, the Patriots tweeted some photos from their annual fantasy camp. Both Brady and Gronkowski were present hanging out with fans.

Mandatory minicamp begins on Tuesday, and there was never really a doubt that both Brady and Gronkowski would be there. While they probably didn’t miss a whole lot during organized team activities, their absences were notable.

Gronkowski has reportedly been seeking a new contract, and there have been indications that he is going to get one at some point this offseason. The situation with Brady may be a little more complicated and could have to do with money and/or his personal trainer Alex Guerrero no longer having access to the team. Either way, it would have been a big surprise if Brady and Gronk missed mandatory workouts.

‘No-fun Patriots’ seem to be lightening up, perhaps to appease their disgruntled stars .
Lane Johnson would be shocked to learn what the Patriots did this week as they wrapped up nine weeks of offseason workouts. On Monday, Bill Belichick canceled practice and instead held a team bonding experience at Fenway Park. On Tuesday, the Patriots returned to practice, but Belichick turned it into an opportunity to teach his players about football history, using props including leather helmets, I’m told.
