Report: Oilers want to trade Lucic, not simply offload contract There's been a lot of speculation about Milan Lucic's potential departure from Edmonton this summer. However, despite initial rumors indicating Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli is willing to simply offload Lucic's hefty remaining contract at any cost, the latest rumblings point to Edmonton wanting to wait for a deal that better suits the organization, sources told The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun.

I’m sure they’re tired when we score , they be trying to get off the field, but I think it’d give them The Pirates right-hander tossed a complete game shutout of the Marlins striking out seven and giving up just three hits while He’ll be at home in Charleston, W.V., watching the draft with his mom, dad, four

Even more unfortunate for Bolsinger, Mets rookie Steven Matz was really, really good. Not even the New York Mets' draft picks can escape the team's run of futility, and Tennessee Tech first baseman Chase Chambers was the latest to be cursed on Monday.

Chambers, who was selected by the Mets in the 18th round of last week's draft, created an all-time blooper with a fielding gaffe during Game 3 of his team's Super Regional against Texas.

With the Golden Eagles down 4-2 in the sixth inning, the senior raced in to catch a towering pop-up off the bat of Texas' David Hamilton. But he completely whiffed and the ball hit him square in the groin right in front of home plate. The ball landed in fair territory, allowing Texas to easily score another insurance run.

"I should have caught that ball. No excuses. I've caught that ball a million times," Chambers said after the game, according to Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman.

Texas went on to win 5-2, advancing to the College World Series for the 36th time in school history.

Insane stat shows how Mets are failing Jacob deGrom .

New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom is having an otherworldly 2018 season. Unfortunately, his team is giving him essentially no support. deGrom was his usual brilliant self on Wednesday. He went seven innings and allowed only one earned run. Despite that, the Mets fell to the Atlanta Braves 2-0. But New York has grown quite used to losing despite deGrom’s brilliance.
deGrom was his usual brilliant self on Wednesday. He went seven innings and allowed only one earned run.
