Report: Brandon Knight likely to be dealt by trade deadline

Report: Brandon Knight likely to be dealt by trade deadline Brandon Knight's time in Phoenix may be coming to an end. ESPN’s Marc Stein reports on Friday that the latest indications are that the Suns will move Knight in between now and the February 23 trade deadline. The 25-year-old combo guard has been demoted to a sixth man role for Phoenix this season and is posting mediocre averages of 13.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He’s playing just 21.5 minutes per game in the month of December and saw just nine minutes of action in a 99-91 win over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday.

The Boston Herald reported earlier that Danny Ainge had approached the Bulls FO to inquire about the availability of Jimmy Butler in exchange for the Nets lottery pick (4th) and the Dallas Mavericks middle first round pick (16th) plus any of their bench players. Boston also has 5 second round picks available for trade if any offer is good. If the Celtics make the offer again, both get exactly what they want for future plans. Among the Bulls trade scenarios for Jimmy Butler , this one spells blockbuster. Minnesota Timberwolves Players.

There is strong evidence the Celtics could have made a trade for Butler , but neither side felt what was being offered by the other was worth doing. If it had simply been a matter of getting Butler to get Durant, the C’s would have overpaid and done it. But that’s where the story changes. Jimmy Butler no longer available ? The Bulls have talent. The front-court is well-stocked with good players, including Cristiano Felicio, a rugged and bouncy prospect the team adores.

In the eyes of the Chicago Bulls, Jimmy Butler remains untouchable.

ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that, despite some recent reports to the contrary, sources close to the Bulls firmly deny that the team would consider trading their star guard.

Though things have been particularly chaotic in Chicago and he’s been the subject of trade rumors since the offseason, Butler is still seen as a franchise player and building block, not a trade chip.

Chicago’s guard-heavy lineup hasn’t worked well at all, but Butler isn’t the one taking the fall for it. He’s averaging 25.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, both of which would be career highs. Plus, he’s signed through 2020 on a 5-year, $95 million deal that has quickly begun to look like something of a bargain with the new CBA.

According to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report , the Lakers and the rest of the NBA may be tested, because Chicago Bulls ’ guard Jimmy Butler is apparently get-able on the trade market. “League sources say that the team made it known weeks ago through back channels that shooting guard Jimmy Butler is available for the right price,” Bucher said in his video report . “Could his recent 52-point explosion against the Hornets change the team’s thinking?

Tom Thibodeau isn’t playing any games whatsoever as he tries to get his old gang back together. According to a report by Marc Stein of ESPN on Monday, Thibodeau’s Timberwolves are making the No. 5 overall pick in this year’s draft available in the hopes of convincing the Chicago Bulls to trade them All-Star swingman Jimmy Butler .

The Bulls seem unlikely to keep all their guards, but this player appears far more likely to be shown the door than Butler is.
