Report: Brandon Knight likely to be dealt by trade deadline

Report: Brandon Knight likely to be dealt by trade deadline Brandon Knight's time in Phoenix may be coming to an end. ESPN’s Marc Stein reports on Friday that the latest indications are that the Suns will move Knight in between now and the February 23 trade deadline. The 25-year-old combo guard has been demoted to a sixth man role for Phoenix this season and is posting mediocre averages of 13.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He’s playing just 21.5 minutes per game in the month of December and saw just nine minutes of action in a 99-91 win over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday.

In the eyes of the Chicago Bulls, Jimmy Butler remains untouchable.

ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that, despite some recent reports to the contrary, sources close to the Bulls firmly deny that the team would consider trading their star guard.

Though things have been particularly chaotic in Chicago and he’s been the subject of trade rumors since the offseason, Butler is still seen as a franchise player and building block, not a trade chip.

Chicago’s guard-heavy lineup hasn’t worked well at all, but Butler isn’t the one taking the fall for it. He’s averaging 25.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, both of which would be career highs. Plus, he’s signed through 2020 on a 5-year, $95 million deal that has quickly begun to look like something of a bargain with the new CBA.

Butler is 27, playing like a superstar and locked up until 2019 on a team-friendly contract. He’s incredibly valuable, and it’d be difficult for another team to assemble a trade package that accounts for those factors. Tag Jimmy Butler Chicago.

According to a Thursday afternoon report from Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report , the Chicago Bulls may be looking to reshape their roster sooner than expected. Bulls trades and acquisitions ideas for the 17-18 season Last post: infinity2152.

The Bulls seem unlikely to keep all their guards, but this player appears far more likely to be shown the door than Butler is.
