LaVar Ball: Michael Jordan couldn't sell $495 shoes because he's not Lonzo

LaVar Ball: Michael Jordan couldn't sell $495 shoes because he's not Lonzo LaVar Ball reappeared on television this week to let everyone know that Michael Jordan couldn't sell $495 (!) sneakers, which is a historical fact - but LaVar says it's because MJ isn't his son, Lonzo (which is also a fact, but a dubiously connected one). Whoa!

LaVar Ball , center, is shown with his sons and Chino Hill High School basketball stars, LiAngelo, left, and LaMelo, right, at their home in Chino Hills, CA on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. The family wears the Big Baller Brand line of clothing that LaVar started.

LaVar Ball says his Big Baller Brand already has a QUARTER MILLION in sales -- with at least 495 people buying his 5 shoe. LaVar appeared on FS1's "Undisputed" Monday morning to talk about Lonzo Ball 's new ZO2 shoe -- which launched last week.

At least one NBA player bought Big Baller Brand shoes

At least one NBA player bought Big Baller Brand shoes New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Crawford said on Twitter he bought Big Baller Brand shoes. Now apparently Crawford had only heard about the shoes before purchasing. He asked folks on Twitter to help him.

Lonzo's father, LaVar Ball , has said he plans to move forward with BBB because no major shoe company would give him the "true partnership" he wanted. Big Baller Brand is also selling sandals for 0 a pop.

Lonzo Ball 's father is hitting back hard at George Raveling -- Nike's global basketball sports marketing director who said this week that LaVar was the worst thing to happen to basketball in 100 years. "That Big Baller Brand about to be your competition!"

LaVar Ball, usually reluctant to grant media access, appeared on The Herd with Colin Cowherd this afternoon. In addition to his typical fare of demonstrably false grand claims, he got into a tense exchange with co-host Kristine Leahy.

Leahy asked Ball how many of pairs of Lonzo Ball's signature shoes the Big Baller Brand had sold.

"Stay in your lane," Ball responded, while putting his hand up toward Leahy and turning to Cowherd. "I don't even worry about her over there."

"I don't look over there because she scares me. Leave me alone. I'll tell you, 400, 500 pairs."

When Cowherd pointed out Leahy was a reporter, Ball informed him "she can report to whoever she wants behind her."

Leahy again tried to engage.

"My problem with you is that you are a hater," he continued. Then, in a falsetto voice, "I would never wear a Big Baller shirt. Well, good don't even talk to me."

Is Lonzo Ball Worth The Headache His Father Will Bring?

Is Lonzo Ball Worth The Headache His Father Will Bring? Is Lonzo Ball worth the headache his dad is surely going to bring? What LaVar Ball did to Kristine Leahy on Wednesday was wildly disrespectful. Things have been said on both sides, but refusing to acknowledge or even look at her crossed a line. He was a guest on her show and he acted like she wasn't even there. Then he offered up a thinly-veiled threat in her direction. It was ridiculous and something that no one should be defending.

Kristine Leahy ‏Подлинная учетная запись @KristineLeahy 28 апр. You're wrong, Kristine . No CLASSY woman will wear the Big Baller Brand . I picture these shoes being on the Clearance Table @ Walmart 1 day..

Here's the video.

Ball went on to dismiss Leahy's argument that his brand would be more successful if it made an attempt to appeal to women. "In order to have a successful company, I think you are going to have to have women that like your brand," said Leahy. "Uh, yeah, if you have a women's company. But we talking about Big Baller Brand," responded Ball.

Later (at around the 10 minute mark of the audio), Lavar Ball also insulted Jason Whitlock, saying the only thing the FS1 personality should be able to comment on is snacks.

In short, the appearance was a disaster and Ball emerges as an even more toxic personality than was already painfully obvious. Leahy, on the other hand, should be commended for not backing down in the face of such flagrant disrespect.

Argentinian company takes aim at LaVar Ball's Big Baller Brand .
Founders of Baller Brand say name was stolen, but Ball has legal coverage.Diego and Leandro Franco, brothers who founded the company in 2006, claim LaVar Ball, the father of UCLA product and future NBA draftee Lonzo Ball, stole the brand name by just adding “Big." They added that LaVar Ball “wasn’t creative enough to create his own brand name (and) just took ours.
