Inducted into New York's Ring of Honor in 2011, the outside linebacker was with the Jets for the first 13 years of the franchise's existence and was a member of the Super Bowl III championship team. Prior to that, he was a member of the New York Titans.

The Jets announced Grantham's passing late Sunday night.

Originally drafted by the NFL's Baltimore Colts, Grantham instead decided to play for the American Football League's Titans out of the University of Mississippi.

Grantham was a stud for the Titans and then the Jets, ending his career with five AFL All-Star nods and a spot on the league's All-Time team.

He came up big in that Super Bowl game against the Colts, too. He had three tackles in the Jets' upset victory in addition to two pass defenses.

In 2011, Grantham joined Gerry Philbin, Al Toon and Freeman McNeil in the Jets' second Ring of Honor class.

Following his career, Grantham spent time broadcasting Jets games on the radio. He also worked with Freedom House, a New Jersey drug and alcohol treatment center, for decades.
