  Hearing in death of Penn State pledge to resume for 3rd day Members of a shuttered Penn State fraternity are due back in court for a preliminary hearing on charges related to the death of a pledge after a night of heavy drinking. A Pennsylvania judge will convene for the third day of a preliminary hearing on Tuesday for the Beta Theta Pi chapter and 16 of its members. Two others have waived the hearing.Some face involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault charges in the death of 19-year-old Tim Piazza, of Lebanon, New Jersey. Others face less serious charges, including evidence tampering and hazing.

This doesn't mean we shouldn't always remember what happened at Penn State, and use it as a sign of caution as to what happens when football culture gets out of hand. But there's a big difference between a reminder and feature-length film.

This isn't to sympathize with Penn State in the slightest. It's to protect those that were truly hurt by this atrocity from having it thrown in their face yet again with terrible overacting and a storyline that may or may not be flawed.

This has all the makings of a big money film, and that's precisely what's wrong here. Profiting off scandal is one thing, but real lives were ruined at Penn State, and any error in reporting or tone of this film could have very real consequences.
