Belichick Hacks NFL Training Camp

Belichick Hacks NFL Training Camp This summer, the Patriots have scheduled joint practice sessions with three separate opponents. While joint practices aren't new, the volume and way Bill Belichick will use them could set a new standard for the league. That's not a commentary on his personality, although based on how he handles the media, there are surely people that feel that way.

Bill Belichick hammers new phrase to avoid questions after preseason loss to Jaguars .

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said there are "a lot of things we need to work on" after his team's loss to the Jaguars in their preseason

He said that catchphrase five times while fielding eight questions in his postgame press conference after Week 1 of the preseason. Belichick seemed to recognize just how uninteresting the phrase was, and he stuck with it.

"There are a lot of things we all need to work on, so we'll just keep grinding it out and try to have another good week next week," Belichick said during his opening statement.

He was asked about Jimmy Garoppolo's handling of the 2-minute drill at the end of the half where the quarterback helped the Patriot score a touchdown after getting the ball with just 1-minute, 43-seconds and 77 yards to go.

"I think tonight it's all about the same story. There are some good things. There are a lot of things we need to work on," Belichick said.

How about the strong performance from tight end Jacob Hollister, who finished with seven catches for 116 yards? What was Belichick's reaction to that showing by the former undrafted free agent rookie?

"I think there were probably good plays from everybody, and then there were plays that weren't so good, things we need to work on," Belchick said. "We'll go back and look at the film, break it down and get through the corrections tomorrow and point out the good things and point out the things we need to work on."

Seeing a trend, here?

Belichick was asked how he thought his defense fared on third down, where they held the Jaguars to a 3 of 10 conversion rate but allowed a Leonard Fournette rushing touchdown.

"Well, there's a lot of things we need to work on; offense, defense, special teams," Belichick said.

And it finally sunk in: the Patriots have things they need work on.
