It was a fairly uneventful game from start to finish, but a few things stood out in L.A. on Saturday night. Here are three takeaways from the Rams' victory.

Report: DeShone Kizer likely to start Browns’ preseason opener

Report: DeShone Kizer likely to start Browns’ preseason opener The Cleveland Browns are ready to take a long look at rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer during preseason games. According to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, Kizer is likely to start Cleveland’s preseason opener despite an underwhelming scrimmage on Friday night.

The Vikings tallied another preseason win on Saturday night, defeating the Dallas Cowboys 28-14 at AT&T Stadium to move to 4-0 this preseason and 8-0 all-time in the preseason under head coach Mike Zimmer.

squared off only twice in the preseason since the Rams moved to St. Louis. in the Divisional Round victory over Dallas Completed 15-of-24 passes for 234 yards and no INTs Posted a 134.4 passer - Finished the season with 6 takeaways ( 3 INT, 3 FR). His 3 FR tied for the 3 rd. most in the NFL.

Justin Davis has a world of potential as No. 2 running back

Todd Gurley is going to be the Rams' starting running back. There isn't a person in America that will dispute that. However, things get interesting as you look further down the depth chart. Davis had himself an up-and-down night against the Cowboys, but there were more highs than lows. He rushed for 70 yards on just nine carries, 32 of which came on one attempt.

If you watched him play, you could see why the Rams are excited about him in McVay's offense. He can run out of the shotgun, catch passes and make big plays in the open field. His vision is outstanding for a rookie, and his decisiveness in the hole is even better. When he sees an opening, he puts his foot in the ground and gets upfield. He's going to push Malcolm Brown hard for the backup running back job, as long as he fixes his fumbling issues.

Cam Newton expected to sit out Panthers preseason opener

With a 20-12 win over the Oakland Raiders on Saturday night, the Vikings have moved to 3 -0 this preseason and 7-0 all-time in the preseason under Mike Zimmer. Here are five takeaways from the win …

The Rams have stared their first preseason back in Los Angeles with two wins , the latest of which came as a 21-20 victory over Kansas City. With that in mind, here are five takeaways from Preseason Week 2.

Rob Havenstein will most likely move to RT full-time

After keeping Jamon Brown at right tackle for most of the offseason, Sean McVay mixed it up on the line. Havenstein got the start at right tackle with Brown inside at right guard, which is a combination both players are probably more comfortable with. It remains to be seen if the Rams will go into the regular season with this combo on the right side, but it's telling that McVay would open the preseason schedule with Havenstein at tackle. Keep an eye on the right side of the offensive line next week and throughout the preseason.

Sean McVay isn't worried about Jared Goff's transition to his offense

Goff played exactly eight plays on Saturday night, which is about what McVay expected his starters to play. However, Goff isn't like the rest of the first-stringers. He's the quarterback, who's entering his first season in a new system after struggling mightily as a rookie.

Andrew Luck’s status in question for Week 1 vs. Rams

Andrew Luck’s status in question for Week 1 vs. Rams The Rams could face Scott Tolzien instead of Andrew Luck in the season opener.Andrew Luck has been rehabbing his shoulder after undergoing offseason surgery and his status for the start of this season remains up in the air. Colts general manager Chris Ballard told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero that Luck is still expected to be taken off the PUP list before the regular season starts, but his availability for Week 1 has yet to be determined.

With one more match left this preseason , here are my takeaways form Sunday's 3 -0 win . Paul is from the United States and has been writing about Manchester United since 2015. He's also covered American football since 2012.

Following a 103-84 win over the Sacramento Kings, the Los Angeles Lakers can take a handful of things away from their preseason opener. Here are three quick takeaways from Tuesdays preseason opener.

Given the lack of playing time he saw against the Cowboys, though, McVay doesn't seem concerned with his transition to a new regime. If he were worried about it, Goff would've stayed around into the second quarter.

It's hard to blame the head coach for keeping his quarterback out of harm's way, too. Goff is the face of the franchise and this team will go as he does. If he gets hurt, the Rams will be in trouble.

Zeke’s Mystique: Garrett unsure if Elliott will play this preseason .
Head coach Jason Garrett is up in the air on whether Cowboys' RB Ezekiel Elliott will play in the preseason.Coach Jason Garrett apparently hasn't made that decision yet, and is quoted as saying "I just haven't had those discussions with him." The fact Elliott is healthy and practicing but isn't being told if he will play leads many to believe that Garrett is leaning towards not playing the star running back.
