Nothing upsets Bill Belichick as quickly as a question about the future of his quarterbacks. Following Saturday's trade which sent third string quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Colts, Belichick was asked whether the Patriots might be stretched thin at the position in March 2018 during the offseason.

Buzzkill Bill Belichick fired an early warning shot to players who just made the Patriots roster

Buzzkill Bill Belichick fired an early warning shot to players who just made the Patriots roster Congrats on making the team, kid. But you can be cut at any time. While making an NFL roster out of camp is certainly an accomplishment to be proud of, sticking on an NFL roster is not guaranteed, as Bill Belichick depressingly pointed out during a press conference following the Pats' roster cuts…

Asked whether Jimmy Garoppolo could remain starter upon Tom Brady ’s return from suspension, an annoyed Bill Belichick said, "Jesus Christ." — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) July 29, 2016.

But if Bill Belichick is worried—or if he's making plans for the future —he's not talking. Brady was 14-for-23 for just 159 yards last night, with three turnovers to boot. It was a blowout by the time he left in favor of second-round pick and presumable QB of the future Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy Garoppolo's contract expires after the 2017 season, and Tom Brady will be turning 42 years old.

"With all due respect, I don't think there are any games scheduled in March," Belichick said Sunday at Gillette Stadium. "I don't think there are any scheduled in April, so what a team looks like in March and April is relevant, but in the end, it's more what the team looks like in September, or I'd say more importantly in December and January. We never try to build a team for March. We try to build a team for September and then most importantly November, December."

The Patriots drafted Brissett in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft ahead of a season when Brady would be serving a four-game suspension. Likely due to the Patriots' shortage at quarterback, they took the opportunity to develop Brissett. The Patriots generally carry two quarterbacks with 2016, 2011 and 2008 being the exceptions in the last 10 seasons.

The Patriots will carry just two quarterbacks to start 2017. If Garoppolo leaves in the 2018 offseason, he would leave them with just Brady, who is fending off Father Time and hopes to play until he's 45. If they hope to keep Garoppolo, the Patriots can work out an extension or place the franchise tag on him.

GOP eyes tax framework for Sept. 25 release .
Key Congressional Republicans and administration officials are planning to release a "consensus" tax-reform framework the week of Sept. 25, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) told his colleagues Wednesday. Brady told reporters after a House GOP conference meeting that the framework will include the "core elements of tax reform."Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said during a press conference that the framework will be "the beginning of a very important process to achieve for the first time in a generation overhauling our tax system and giving middle class families a much deserved break.
