  Kaepernick: Police brutality against Bennett 'disgusting and unjust' Michael Bennett says he was a victim of racism and police brutality in Las Vegas last month, and Colin Kaepernick was one of the first fellow professional athletes to speak out on the star defensive lineman’s behalf on Wednesday. Not long after Bennett released a statement describing how police officers pointed a gun at his head, physically assaulted him and threatened to “blow (his) f—ing head off,” Kaepernick took to social media to share his thoughts.

TMZ Sports has obtained video of NFL superstar Michael Bennett being handcuffed by police in Vegas . During the incident, Bennett screams out, "I wasn't doing nothing man! I was here with my friends! They told us to get out, everybody ran!"

Shortly after Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett accused Las Vegas police of mistreatment, a video emerged that showed a portion of the encounter Bennett had with officers after the Floyd Mayweather-Conor The officer then yells, “Put your palms together!” as he handcuffs Bennett .

 TMZ has obtained video of part of the incident with Las Vegas police described by Seahawks' defensive end Michael Bennett. That footage shows Michael Bennett being handcuffed while facedown on the sidewalk.

"I wasn't doing nothing man! [unclear] I was here with my friends! They told us to get out, everybody ran!"

It does show an officer (not the one handcuffing him) holding what looks like a gun, and pointing it down at Bennett from above the railing. You cannot here, at least during this portion of the video, an officer threatening Bennett that he would "blow my f****** head off."

Michael Bennett's attorney believes the Las Vegas Police Department is trying to "smear" the name of the Seattle Seahawks defensive end. Bennett revealed Wednesday that he was detained by police Aug. 26 and believes he was assaulted and racially profiled. The police department has since defended their actions and asked the NFL to investigate Bennett's statements.Oakland civil rights attorney John Burris responded Friday by calling for an independent agency to investigate the matter.
