The worst has proven to be true for the Minnesota Vikings after a Week 4 loss to the Detroit Lions.

In a highly competitive NFC North division, the Vikings will have to continue the fight without their promising rookie stud. And we should've seen this coming, based on the Vikes' unfortunate history of injuries, and Cook's prior ACL injury suffered while at Florida State.

The rookie out of FSU was off to a great start, piling up 354 yards and two rushing scores along with 11 receptions and 90 yards. And a future that was hardly in doubt when the sun rose on Sunday now features a year-long recovery.

Moving forward, Minnesota will likely turn to Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon as a committee in the backfield. For the team that allowed Adrian Peterson to leave and solve some crowding issues this offseason, suddenly it's unclear if there are enough bodies back there to effectively carry the load.
