Arkansas becomes third U.S. state to add Medicaid work requirements
Arkansas on Monday became the third U.S. state to require that Medicaid recipients work or participate in employment activities as a condition of receiving health insurance as the Trump administration continues to approve state requests that fundamentally change the 50-year-old program. Arkansas's waiver would require beneficiaries to work or participate in job training or job search activities for at least 80 hours per month as a condition of receiving Medicaid, the government health insurance program for the poor and disabled.
Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy (D) in a new interview tore into the National Rifle Association (NRA), saying there is "blood on their hands."
During, Malloy said the NRA is an organization "devoid of courage when it comes to making our nation safer."
"The NRA is taking advantage of people's deaths to make the case that we need more guns," he charged during the interview.
"I'm not accusing them of pulling the trigger, but in some cases I think there is blood on their hands. Because they have fought against gun safety for so many years."
His comments come as the issue of gun control remains in the national spotlight after a shooting last month at a Florida high school that left 17 people dead.

Ahn Hee-jung, once seen a possible future president, said he was guilty of "foolish behaviour".In a Facebook post governor Ahn Hee-jung "begged forgiveness" for his "foolish behaviour" and said denials issued by his office were untrue.
Since the shooting, students have become vocal advocates for gun control, planning marches and rallying lawmakers to pass new gun laws.
Some have also ripped the NRA and criticized lawmakers for accepting donations from the organization.
President Trump and lawmakers have been discussing new gun laws that could prevent future school shootings.
A recent report said Trump a proposal that would encourage school systems around the country to allow armed staff on school premises, among other ideas. The administration is also seeking to ban bump stocks, devices that increase the rate of fire.
Malloythe NRA of acting like a "terrorist organization."
Malloy was governor during the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., and has pushed for stricter gun laws in the years since then.
Cynthia Nixon officially announces run for NY governor .
Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon has announced her run for the New York governor’s seat. The actress made it official on Monday, and she plans to run in the Democratic Primary against current Governor Andrew Cuomo. Nixon, who was born in New York and starred in one of the quintessential NYC-based TV series, was rumored to run in the gubernatorial race for months. Liberal groups reportedly had urged her to run, which she addressed during an appearance on the Today show last August. She posted her official announcement to Twitter on Monday.
