  Report: Shooting near congressional baseball game practice field A shooting was reported Wednesday near a Congressional baseball game practice field. A reporter from the Huffington Post tweeted that a congressman said he "heard there was a shooting at the Congressional "ABC 7 News reported "multiple shooting" in the 400 block of E. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) was wounded on Wednesday morning in a shooting at a GOP practice for the Congressional Baseball Game .A number of GOP aides, lawmakers and senators were present at the shooting.

The GOP lawmakers were practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game , which was set to take place Thursday night at Nationals Park. Democratic lawmakers were practicing for the game at a different location.

Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) was wounded in a shooting at a GOP practice for the congressional baseball game on Wednesday morning.

A number of GOP aides, lawmakers and senators were present at the shooting.

The gunman who opened fire on a congressional Republican baseball practice in Virginia on Wednesday had a list of names that included several GOP lawmakers, according to multiple reports. The Daily Caller first reported that James T. Hodgkinson had a list of Republican names in his pocket that was recovered by the FBI.Hodgkinson's list included Republican Reps. Mo Brooks (Ala.), Trent Franks (Ariz.) and Jeff Duncan (S.C.), according to reports.Fox News reported that GOP Reps. Jim Jordan (Ohio), Morgan Griffith (Va.), and Scott DesJarlais (Tenn.) were also on the list.
