  Explosion near Borussia Dortmund bus ahead of Monaco clash One person has been injured after an explosion near Borussia Dortmund's team bus as they prepared to travel for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final against Monaco.Thomas Tuchel's side host the Ligue 1 leaders for the first-leg of the tie at Signal Iduna Park.However, a statement from the local police has confirmed that an explosion occurred."In the run-up to the Champions League match of BVB against AS Monaco, there was an explosion near the BVB team teambus shortly after 7 pm," it read."According to our current knowledge the wheels of the bus (whole or partial) were broken and one person was injured.

A spokesman for Borussia Dortmund said the injured player , Bartra, was being operated on for a broken bone in his right wrist and shrapnel in his arm. "The bus turned into the main street, when there was a huge boom, a real explosion

Borussia Dortmund ’s team bus was damaged and a player was injured following three explosions near the vehicle while it was on its way to Tuesday’s Bartra, 26, joined Dortmund for eight million euros (.48 million) last year from Barcelona, after coming through the Catalan club ’s youth system.

DORTMUND, Germany, April 11 (Reuters) - At least one person has been injured by an explosion on the bus taking the Borussia Dortmund soccer team to their Champions League quarter-final first-leg match against Monaco on Tuesday, the German club said.

The BBC reported that defender and Spanish international Marc Bartra was injured.

"Shortly after the departure of the Borussia Dortmund team bus from the hotel to the stadium there was an incident. The bus has been damaged in two places," Dortmund said in a statement.

"One person has been injured and is in the hospital. At this point we will inform as soon as we know more."
